Anonymous asked: It's not a "pudding consistency" and isn't like a normal period. its kinda clotty and literally dry. It grosses me out (but a lot of this stuff does) and it only lasts fro a few days. I'm honestly too scared to see a doctor about it.
O_o
Well, the only period of time that ever happened to me is the first few months when I started mine, so I’m not really sure about you. If you’re in your early stages, I wouldn’t worry too much about it, but if it’s been going for more than half a year now, then I really would suggest going to see a doctor, because you shouldn’t risk your own health just because you’re scared. The sooner you get it looked at, the less serious it could be.
Anonymous asked: I got my period 4times but not 4 months in a row. And now I have brown-red dried blood instead of whats usual and it seems to be monthly? I'm 14 and know this shouldn't be happening I'm also a virgin. I hope you have an answer!
Well, I’m no doctor, but I think there could be 2 explanations for that.
1) If you’ve just started, then usually the lining that your uterus sheds is going to be kind of brown and not really blood-like. It might also explain why you’re having irregular periods; when I first got mine when I was 12, the first gap between them lasted 4 whole months, which worried me a little, but it became more regular after a year or so (:
2) If by ‘brown-red dried blood’ you mean the kind that looks (I’m sorry if I ruin your appetite but) kind of like a pudding consistency, then I think this might clear things up a bit: Your body typically releases anticoagulants to keep menstrual blood from clotting as it’s being released. But when your period is heavy and blood is being rapidly expelled, there’s not enough time for anticoagulants to work. That enables clots to form.
If you have excessive clotting or clots larger than a quarter, you should see a health care professional to rule out any conditions that might be causing an abnormal period. I don’t think it has anything to do with your sexual activity to be honest, the only difference that sex (or lack thereof) makes to your period is whether it happens that month or not, to be honest (as far as I’m concerned anyway)
Hope that helps!
